The Challenge
Midcycle workloads and associated costs were rising rapidly year over year, creating a budgeting challenge for this eastern U.S. based investor-owned utility. They asked DRG to develop a best-in-class solution to increase productivity and efficiency in workload assignment and completion by contractors concerning circuit work assignments.
The Solution
Davey Resource Group proposed a paperless workflow system to address contractor efficiency and communication.
DRG dispatched Rover – a remote work planning software – to digitally relay information about the ROWs with Davey’s staff of GIS experts. The Rover system would transform the workload information into comprehensive map packages with specific work plans, which the contractor would use to estimate costs. This solution improved accuracy and removed potential budget swell by ensuring that work was not being planned and executed by the same crews.
The Results
